Dinosaurs and More
Fourteen of John's poems have been set to music by composer Matthew Coatsworth. The Age of the Dinosaurs, a musical extravaganza for primary schools, is to be performed by 200 children from Kidlington primary schools at West Kidlington School on July 12th.
A booklet of John's poems about dinosaurs, Here Come the Dinosaurs, illustrated by Mario Coelho, has been published to coincide with the performance.
Together with poets James Carter, Clare Bevan and Coral Rumble, John took part in Fridayfest in which 250 children from primary schools in Reading spent the day at Reading University on June 7th. As well as listening to the poets performing their poems, the children attended workshops exploring how dance, rhythm, art, maths and science can be linked to poetry.
During the summer holidays, John will be performing at a Family Fun Day at Brasenose College on Saturday 3rd August.
John will also be taking part and performing in the Oxfordshire Children's Read-a-thon and Family Fun Day at Milton Manor, Milton, Abingdon on Saturday, 14th September. For more information contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
